Himachal’s hill station Manali (Kullu) is ready for the celebration of Christmas and New Year. For the first time, tourists visiting Manali from all over the country will celebrate White Christmas in the snowy plains of Lahaul due to Atal Tunnel Rohtang. Snowflakes are falling continuously in the valleys of Lahaul, due to which snow is lying all around.

The big thing is that since December 23, Western Disturbance is becoming active in the state. Due to this, there is a full possibility of snowfall on the day of Christmas on December 25. Most of the hotels in Manali have 60 percent rooms booked. The influx of tourists coming from other states is increasing every day. Occupancy in hotels has increased as soon as a white sheet of snow is laid in tourist places.

About 60 percent of the hotels in Manali are packed. By next week, 80 percent of the hotels are expected to be packed. 25 to 35 percent discount is being given in most of the hotels. Candle light dinner has also been arranged in the hotels to the tune of flute including DJ and Kulvi Naati.

Tourist city Manali’s local site Scene Club House, Manu Mandir, Hidimba Temple, charming Van Vihar, Vashistha Temple, Nagar Roerich Art and Castle have also started gathering tourists.

Hotel Glacier manager Rana and Snowflakes manager Dipankar Kapoor say that due to snowfall in tourist places, the occupancy of quality hotels has increased.

Hotel Association President Mukesh Thakur said that in Christmas and New Year hoteliers will provide best facilities to the tourists with attractive packages. Advance booking of 50 to 60 percent has been done in most of the hotels in the tourist city of Manali, while the order of booking is going on. He said that it would be the priority of the Association to provide best facilities to every tourist coming to Manali.

Superintendent of Police Kullu Gurdev Sharma says that police personnel are being deployed everywhere in tourist places for Christmas and New Year.
