BJP MP Jayant Sinha has targeted Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren saying that the CM is only interested in making his image, nothing to do with the works of public interest.

Sinha, a former Union minister, accused CM Soren of promoting his achievements and making no effort to solve the problem of prolonged power cuts in the command area of the DVC spread over seven districts of the state. Sinha said that Soren is not at all interested in solving the power crisis by clearing the pending DVC dues since he came to power in December 2019, although there is no dearth of funds in the state government’s exchequer.

Sinha said that he had raised the issue of power crisis in the DVC command area, including Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts, in Parliament and Union Power Minister RK Singh had assured that steps would be taken to resolve the problem. “Soren is only concerned about building his image by promoting his achievements. He is not interested in solving the current power crisis in the DVC command area,” he told reporters here.

He said that the complaints of DVC are valid as it has no funds to buy coal to provide fuel to its power stations due to non-payment of dues. He said, RK Singh had suggested that DVC and Jharkhand government should sit and talk with each other to resolve the crisis.

Jayant Sinha warns of agitation
He said that if the power situation does not improve soon, the BJP will launch an agitation in Jharkhand. Sinha also demanded to run fast trains from Ranchi to Delhi and Patna via Barkakhana, Hazaribagh and Koderma.

He said that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that the construction of railway line between Ranchi and Barkakhana is nearing completion and trial run of trains will be done by March next year. After this, important trains including Rajdhani Express connecting Ranchi, Barkakhana, Hazaribagh and Koderma with Delhi can be started at least once a week.

He said that Hazaribagh, Barkakhana and Koderma sections of East Central Railway are deprived of rail facilities while it generates maximum revenue through coal transport.
