raya: Coming Soon: Greenfield E-way That’ll Connect Heritage City With Vrindavan | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: A 6km-long greenfield expressway will be built to directly connect Banks of Bihari temple in Vrindavan with the proposed Heritage City in Raya along the Yamuna Expressway.
TOI has learnt that Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will acquire 1,700 acres of land for the expressway and commercial activities, like setting up of hotels, malls and restaurants, along the route. And work on the project will start in this month only.
“The private firm preparing the detailed project report of Heritage City will also submit a report in this regard by next week,” Authority CEO Arun Vir Singh said on Thursday.
The six-lane expressway, which will start from Raya, will be built to connect with a bridge on the Yamuna river near Vrindavan. From the bridge, a 2.5km-long new road is already being built to Banke Bihari temple. A new road will also be constructed from the Yamuna bridge to Dwarkadhish temple.
At present, there are encroachments on the route from Vrindavan Cut of the Yamuna Expressway to Banke Bihari temple. Officials said that toll will be collected from vehicles on the new expressway. YEIDA will bear the cost of land acquisition and construction.
In fact, the private consultant was directed to do a feasibility study of a expressway up to Dwarkadhish temple and Banke Bihari temple earlier this month. Officials said that Heritage City will be developed on a public-private partnership model. To ease the pressure of tourists from the Mathura-Vrindavan circuit, the UP government has planned to create Heritage City in the Raya Urban Centre.
The greenfield project was approved as per the government’s Masterplan 2031 in 2017.
Raya, part of the Mathura-Vrindavan region, will have a theological village and a cultural arena based on the life of Lord Krishna. Besides, there will be high-end tourist facilities like ayurveda centres, Yoga centres and hotels.
