Elaborate Security Arrangements In Place In Noida, Gzb | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Police in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad have made elaborate arrangements to ensure the safety and security of people, particularly women, during Holi.
Speaking to TOI, deputy commissioner of Noida police (women safety), Vrinda Shukla said that cops have been directed to remain vigilant round the clock in order to prevent any untoward incident. “Our main aim is to ensure that people, especially women, get to celebrate the festivities in a peaceful manner, for which we are completely focused on women safety and on cracking down on hooliganism. We will be taking a zero-tolerance policy on such acts,” Shukla said.
Over the last three days, the women safety teams have been carrying out drives outside schools and colleges to ensure there are no incidents of men putting colour on women without their consent. “Police teams will be deployed outside major universities in Noida and Greater Noida to ensure that college students in the district enjoy the festival of colours peacefully. Apart from holding regular peace meetings ahead of Holi, special evening drives are also being carried out every day near liquor stores and in market areas to ensure that there is no public drinking,” the DCP said.
Meanwhile, joint commissioner of police (law and order) Love Kumar said that senior police officials will also be out for patrolling on Friday. “ACPs, SHOs and other officers will carrying out patrolling the entire day,” he said.
Apart from the district police, two companies of PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) have also been deployed across GB Nagar. “We have identified some sensitive areas where the police response vehicles and PCR vans will intensify patrolling,” Kumar added.
In Ghaziabad, SSP Pawan Kumar said his team will act strongly against anyone found indulging in hooliganism. “Extensive deployment of cops has been done in areas where major functions are planned and large gatherings are expected. Teams have also been deployed at market places, bus and auto stands and other hotspots to check on hooliganism. We have also increased security at the borders,” he said.
