The corona spread in some states in the country does not seem to be ending. After just 168 days, the positivity rate has crossed 7%. The Union Health Ministry gave this information on Monday. According to the ministry, this rate has more than doubled in the last 14 days, as it was 3.2% on July 11. According to the WHO, a positivity rate of more than 5% is a matter of concern. Here, on Monday, 13,952 new cases came in the country, 17,718 patients were cured. While 35 infected died.

A total of 7.37 crore people in the country have been given booster doses. On July 13, the government had announced to install boosters for 18+ people free of cost. After this, in just 13 days (between July 13 and 25), 2 crore people have got preconception doses. Between July 1 and 12, only 53 lakh people had got a booster dose, that is, the speed has increased up to 4 times.

Yet we are still behind, as it has been 6 months since 69 crore people got the second dose, but about 90% of them have not got a booster yet. Maximum 2.45 crore booster doses have been given to those above 60.

Only 2 doses ineffective in 6 months, 52% protection from booster
The immunity obtained by applying both the doses of the vaccine starts decreasing in 4-6 months. That is, the protection against re-infection is almost over. That’s why it is necessary to have a booster. Research conducted in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Health says that the third dose, ie booster, reduces the risk of infection by 52%.

New cases in Maharashtra below 1000 after two months

While 6 infected died. Earlier on May 31, 711 new cases were found in Maharashtra.

At the same time, after the decrease in new cases in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu has reached the top in terms of new infections. In Tamil Nadu, 1903 new cases came in the last 24 hours. No corona patients died.

More than 1000 cases in just three states
There are only three states in the country where more than 1000 cases have been registered. These states are Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal. Before Monday, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Odisha were also included in this list. According to the data of the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, 1700 new infected were found in Kerala, 1094 in West Bengal. At the same time, 939 new cases were recorded in Karnataka, and 739 in Odisha.

The positivity rate in the capital Delhi may be 8.18%, but the new cases of corona here are below 500. On Monday, 463 new cases were registered in the capital. The positivity rate of 8.18% means that only 8 or 9 people out of 100 are getting infected.

Positivity rate above 10% in 10 states
The positivity rate in 10 states of the country is above 10%. These include West Bengal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Sikkim, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Meghalaya. Positivity rate is 12.65% in West Bengal, 11.11% in Rajasthan, 11.46% in Kerala, 14.35% in Uttarakhand, Puducherry-10.06%, 21.28% in Sikkim, 11.64% in Manipur, 16.95% in Himachal Pradesh, 17.20% in Nagaland and Meghalaya recorded 14.93%.
