Google Bard Memory Feature To Roll Out Soon: All You Need To Know – News18

You can easily add new preferences right from the Memory page

This means you won’t have to keep telling Bard about your dietary choices or family size every time you ask for recipes or travel tips

ChatGPT rival Google’s AI chatbot Bard could soon include a “Memory” feature, allowing it to store important user details and preferences. A sneak peek at Bard’s user interface, as seen by 9to5Google, suggests that this feature will empower the AI chatbot to recall specific user-provided information and utilise it to improve future interactions.

This means you won’t have to keep telling Bard about your dietary choices or family size every time you ask for recipes or travel tips. Plus, the report mentions that you can easily add new preferences right from the Memory page.

Also, this page is expected to offer the option to remove memories that are inaccurate or unwanted. To ensure privacy, there will be a toggle on the screen’s left side, allowing you to disable Bard’s Memory feature easily.

In related news, the US-based tech giant recently released a new version of its Bard generative AI chatbot. The new update allows the chatbot to integrate with Google apps and services like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Maps, YouTube, and Google Flights and Hotels.

Google is calling this version of Bard its most capable model yet and has improved the ‘Google it’ feature to cross-check Bard’s responses for accuracy.

Citing an example, Google said that you could be applying for a new job and using Bard to help with the process. “You could ask Bard to ‘find my resume titled June 2023 from my Drive and summarize it to a short paragraph personal statement,’ and continue collaborating on your new cover letter,” Google explained.

Addressing privacy concerns, Google also clarified that while using Google Bard’s Workspace extensions, your content from Google apps like Gmail, Docs, and Drive cannot be accessed or viewed by human reviewers or Google employees. And, it can’t be used by Bard to show you personalized ads or to train it
