On Monday, information about a bomb in an Iranian plane passing through India’s airspace caused a stir. From Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur to Jodhpur, the government, agencies and the Indian Air Force were on alert. The plane remained in Indian airspace for about two hours. This plane, which flew from Iran, entered India through Pakistani airspace.

As soon as the information about the bomb was received, Sukhoi fighter jets of the Air Force were deployed to monitor the aircraft. These fighter jets took off from the Punjab and Jodhpur airbases and chased them down outside the Indian territory. The Air Force said that a safe distance was maintained while chasing the aircraft.

Bomb input was received from Pakistan
According to the news agency PTI, the Delhi Air Traffic Control (ATC) got the input of the bomb in the Mahan Air flight from Lahore ATC. After this, the Delhi ATC briefed the pilots. Simultaneously, the aircraft was given the option of landing in Jaipur and then Chandigarh, but the pilots refused the landing and sought permission to land in Delhi, which was refused.

The Indian Air Force’s Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet had escorted the Iranian aircraft.

Iranian agencies deny the possibility of a bomb on the plane
After some time, Iranian agencies denied the talk of a bomb on the plane. After this the plane was allowed to continue flying towards China. The plane made a safe landing in Guangzhou, China via Myanmar.

No Contact with Jaipur ATC
The Jaipur airport director told Bhaskar that the pilot did not contact Jaipur ATC to land the plane in Jaipur. On the other hand, the investigating agencies are probing whether it was a fake call or not.

flew from Tehran to Guangzhou
According to flight tracking website Flightradar, this Mahan Air flight (W581/IRM081) was from Tehran in Iran to Guangzhou in China. According to media reports, there was a call from Pakistan at 9:20 am regarding the bomb threat. The authorities at the Delhi airport were immediately put on alert.
