A young man in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district was stabbed multiple times by a group of men for allegedly watching a video of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who kicked off a massive row over her remarks on Prophet Muhammad.
Police, however, claimed the attack that took place four days ago was motivated by personal enmity. An FIR was lodged in the case but it makes no mention of Nupur Sharma. Two people have been arrested in the case, while two others are absconding, police said.
The victim, identified as Ankit Jha of Bahera village, is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Darbhanga. His condition was said to be critical.
