Alwar Case: Medical Examination Suggests No Injury In Girl’s Private Parts, Says Police

New Delhi: Rajasthan Police said a medical examination of the 14 year-old girl found lying on a bridge in Alwar district found no injuries in her private parts.

“On the basis of technical evidence and video received by police, rape survivor is seen walking on Tijara flyover (incident spot) looking healthy. Doctors stated that her medical examination suggests no injury in her private parts,”
Alwar Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam told ANI.

The mentally-challenged girl was found lying on a bridge near Tijara Fatak on Tuesday night with injuries. She was bleeding and was admitted to the district hospital. Later, she was transferred to the JK Lone Hospital.

SP Tejaswani Gautam said the girl travelled around 25 km from her village and reached Alwar city in an auto-rickshaw.

She said the police were able to track the girl’s movements and traced the auto-rickshaw in which she travelled with 8-10 other passengers.

“Following the incident on Jan 11, a prima facie case was lodged. As per the probe, the girl boarded the auto from her village to the city (Jaipur) all alone. There were only fellow passengers in the auto, and throughout she looked fine,” Gautam further said.

“A team of forensic experts have not found anything suspicious in the auto-rickshaw. The driver was interrogated and her co-passengers will be questioned,” the SP further said.

CCTV footage collected from various locations showed her walking in many areas of the city and on the bridge. However, no camera found her in a distressed condition on the bridge, police said.

As the incident led to an outrage in the state, the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission directed the Alwar district administration and the superintendent of police to submit a report by January 18.

On Friday, BJP hit out at Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over the incident, saying she engages in “selective politics”.

“Neither of the two siblings (Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka) visited the victim’s family nor met her as she battles for life in hospital while they do so in states ruled not by the Congress,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.
