Age Relaxation Gives Job Hope To Over 1l | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s announcement on age relaxation will keep alive the hopes of nearly one lakh people looking to secure jobs who would otherwise have become ineligible.
According to data from the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), 24.62 lakh people had done one-time registration till 2018 (when the notifications ceased) and nearly one lakh would have become ineligible as they would have crossed the age cap of 34 for any job in government, board or corporation.
But now there is renewed hope for them as age relaxation has been extended between 44 and 54 for various categories.
Grads: Many promises, but no jobs
Apart from Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4, there was no notification for teacher and constable positions in the past few years.
Many others were looking for job postings in universities also. Along with the demand for job notifications, many wanted the government to relax the age limit to give an opportunity to those who would otherwise have missed out due to lack of notifications.
Bharat Kumar N, president of the Telangana Graduates Unemployment Association, said the age relaxation for eligibility would provide relief to many, but added: “In the past, there were announcements but no real notification. This time we hope to receive a schedule-based notification.”
It is estimated that there are approximately 40 lakh government job-seekers in the state right now.
