Which roads will be closed in BJP’s Navanna campaign? Where do you go?

BJP has called for Navanna campaign on Tuesday (September 13). That is why several important roads connecting Kolkata and Kolkata-Howrah will remain closed tomorrow. Instead, the vehicle will be diverted through some route, the Kolkata Traffic Police said.

Kolkata Traffic Police informed on Monday that College Street, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Strand Road, Howrah Bridge and II Hooghly Bridge will be closed for a few hours on Tuesday. Traffic will be controlled at that time (Traffic Advisory for BJP Nabanna Rally). Check which roads will be diverted –

  • 11 am to 3 pm: Police will control traffic on Nalin Chandra Street and College Street. Vehicles will be diverted through Lenin Sarani-Moulali-AJC Bose Road instead.
  • From 12 pm till the end of BJP’s Navanna campaign: Vehicular movement will be controlled on Mahatma Gandhi Road (westbound vehicles from Amherst Street crossing). Instead, Kolkata Police has advised vehicles to take a detour from APC Road-AJC Road or Sealda Flyover-Mahatma Gandhi Road-Amherst Street-BB Ganguly Street or Central Avenue south.

  • From 12 pm till the end of BJP’s Navanna campaign: Northbound vehicular movement from Kingsway Junction towards Strand Road will be controlled. Instead, police advised those vehicles to detour south from Kingsway-Rani Rasmani Avenue-Central Avenue or Kingsway-Rani Rasmani Avenue-Red Road.
  • From 8 am till the end of BJP’s Navanna campaign: Traffic may also be controlled on the second Hooghly bridge. Instead vehicles will be diverted from AJC Bose Road-Exide Crossing-AJC Bose Road East-APC Road North or AJC Bose Road-Jawaharlal Nehru Road-Central Avenue North.

  • It is advised to avoid the Second Hooghly Bridge from 8 am to 4 pm. Police advised to avoid Howrah Bridge from 12 noon to 4 pm.
  • Goods vehicles will not be allowed to enter Kolkata city from 4 am to 8 pm.
