The video of the accused who opened fire on the police for two and a half hours on Sunday in Chakeri, Kanpur has now surfaced. Police have arrested the accused. He is not a professional criminal. Dainik Bhaskar’s investigation revealed that he was upset with his son and daughter-in-law and opened fire due to mental stress. Fortunately, he missed his target, otherwise an incident like the Bikroo incident would have happened. The police have arrested him and his wife. The wife is accused of giving him bullets for firing.

Accused Rajkumar Dubey fired about 40-45 rounds at the police.

Rajkumar Dubey, a resident of C Block in Shyam Nagar, does share trading. He is survived by wife Kiran, Divyang daughter Chandni, two sons Siddharth and Rahul. The elder son Siddharth had a love marriage with Bhavna Awasthi on 7 July 2021.

After getting married, due to discord with son and daughter-in-law, Rajkumar and his wife started living in the back part of the house with their 18-year-old handicapped daughter. 15 days ago, younger son Rahul also got married and started living separately from home. The elder son daughter-in-law was pressurizing for property and money. On protesting, they started fighting and called the police. Hurt by all these things, the raid of RK Dubey police was so exasperating that he took out a double barrel gun and opened fire. The accused Rajkumar said this during interrogation of DCP East Pramod Kumar.

The son and daughter-in-law were also detained by the police from the spot, but were released after questioning.

There was a loss of lakhs in the stock market
During the interrogation of the police, wife Kiran has claimed that she had lost lakhs of rupees in share trading in 2003. Because of this he lost his mental balance. Here, the son-in-law had started pressurizing for money and property. He was upset because of this.

DCP East Pramod Kumar told that he has registered an FIR against the accused RK Dubey and his wife Kiran in other serious sections including attempt to murder, obstruction of government work, Arms Act. RK Dubey was arrested by the police from the spot. It was revealed in the investigation that Kiran was giving cartridges instead of stopping the husband during the firing on the police. The police personnel making the video were threatening from the roof.

In view of the firing during the incident, heavy police force was deployed on the spot.

Accused RK Dubey fired 40 to 45 at the police, not one or two. Wearing a helmet, he was throwing fire directly at the police. Fortunately, the bullet did not fit accurately and the police personnel were injured only due to shrapnel. Had the bullet hit the right target, the policeman would have died.

If the target of RK Dubey, who opened fire on the police, had been right, then the Bikru incident would have been repeated. Eight police personnel, including the Deputy SP, were martyred in the attack on the police who went on a rampage in the Bikru case. Similarly, RK Dubey started firing as soon as the police raided and three police personnel including Inspector Himanshu Tyagi were injured. Had the target been accurate, the double barrel bullet would have hit the police personnel directly in the chest.
