Mother Ganga’s Bhog Doli left for Gangotri Dham from Mukhba on Friday.

The Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand is starting from Akshaya Tritiya on 22 April. Till April 21, 16 lakh people have registered for the Yatra. First of all, the doors of Gangotri Dham will be opened at 12:35 pm. The Gangotri temple is decorated with 11 quintals of marigold flowers. Whereas, Mother Yamuna’s doli will leave from Kharsali at 8:25 am on Saturday. The doors of Yamunotri Dham will open at 12.41 pm.

Meanwhile, there is good news for Chardham Yatris. The Uttarakhand government has lifted the ban on visiting a fixed number of pilgrims. However, online/offline registration of devotees will continue.

  • Baba Kedar’s Panchmukhi Utsav Doli has reached Guptkashi after leaving Ukhimath.
  • The doli will reach Phata on 22 April, Gaurikund on 23 April and Kedarnath Dham on 24 April. The portals of Kedarnath will open on April 25 at 6.20 am.
  • Maa Ganga’s doli also left from Mukhwa on Friday. Bhog Doli will take rest for the night at Bhairon Temple in Bhairon Ghati.
  • The darshan of Badri Vishal will start from 27th April.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami formally inaugurated the Char Dham Yatra from Rishikesh on 21 April. He said – the journey has started. We have prepared all kinds of facilities for the devotees. The government will ensure that the journey of every devotee coming from India and abroad is safe and everyone gets a chance to be a part of the yatra.

Health ATM will be on the travel route
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had recently said that Health ATMs will be installed on the Yatra route for health check-up during the Chardham Yatra. This will help a lot to the devotees. Doctors, paramedical staff and health facilities have been deployed on the Yatra route since April 15.

Regarding the increasing cases of Corona, the government has also said that the guidelines of the Center will be strictly implemented. On April 3, State Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said during the review meeting that if needed, Covid vaccination camps will also be set up at public places including bus stand, railway station and airport.

Yamunotri Dham and its travel route

It is believed about the Yamunotri temple that Maharaja Pratapshah of Tehri Garhwal had built the temple of Goddess Yamuna. Later the temple was rebuilt by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur. The actual source of the Yamuna River is a frozen ice lake and glacier, the Champasar Glacier.

It has been told in the Kotirudra Samhita of Shivpuran that Nar-Narayan, the incarnation of Vishnu in Badarivan had worshiped by making a Parthiv Shivling. Shiva appeared because of his devotion and asked him to ask for a boon. Then Nar-Narayan asked for a boon that Shiv ji should always stay in this area. Shiv ji gave a boon to stay here and said that this place would be famous as Kedar Kshetra.

After this, Lord Shiva got absorbed in the form of Jyoti in the Shivling located here. The history of the temple is more than a thousand years old. Adi Guru Shankaracharya had built this temple. The temple is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand.

Gangotri Dham and its travel route
Gomukh Glacier is about 19 km from Gangotri. This is the main origin of river Ganges. This is a very remote place, it cannot be reached easily. The Ganges River is the longest and most sacred river in the world. According to popular belief here, King Bhagirath had done penance to please Lord Shiva by sitting on a boulder in the Gangotri mountain region. Gangotri temple is made of white granite stones.
