Most thrilling T20I game between India and South Africa
The 24th match of the T20 World Cup 2012 in Sri Lanka at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium was the most thrilling game played between these two teams.
India needed to win this match to stay alive in the World T20 2012 tournament, and they also needed to win it by some margin.
But the Indian openers didn’t start well, and there were no vital contributions from any other middle-order batsmen from India.
It was Suresh Raina’s 45 runs that took India over the score of 150 runs. Raina was the highest scorer for the men in blue in that match, and Rohit Sharma, who batted in the middle order, scored 25 runs.
The Indian bowlers brought their team back into the game with regular strikes. Faf du Plessis was the only player who scored a half-century in that game, and no other Proteas batter even scored more than twenty runs.
Jean-Paul Duminy was the other top scorer with 16 runs. Zaheer Khan, Balaji and Yuvraj dented the South African innings.
But still, it was a nail-biting thriller as this game went on until the last to decide the winner. India held their nerves to win this match by just a one-run.
