Tirupati temple has assets worth 2.26 lakh crores: Trust said – 10.3 tonnes of gold and 16 thousand crores deposited in banks

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has for the first time declared the total assets of the temple. According to media reports, a white paper has been released on Saturday, in which it was told that 10.3 tonnes of gold worth Rs 5,300 crore and 15,938 crore cash are deposited in nationalized banks of the temple. The total property of the temple is 2.26 lakh crores.

Growth in gold and cash since 2019
Trust executive officer AV Dharma Reddy has told that the current trust board has strengthened its investment guidelines from 2019. In 2019, there was 13,025 crore cash in many banks, which has increased to 15,938 crore. There has been an increase of Rs 2,900 crore in investments in the last three years. On the other hand, TTD had 7339.74 tonnes of gold deposits in 2019 in the shared bank-vice investment of the trust, which increased by 2.9 tonnes in the last three years.

Claims to invest funds on Andhra government securities
TTD rubbished some social media reports that claimed that the trust’s chairman and board had invested funds on Andhra Pradesh government securities. TTD said that this was not done, rather the remaining funds are invested in scheduled banks.

In a press release, the trust said that the devotees of Srivari are requested not to believe in such false propaganda. The investment of cash and gold deposited in banks is done in a very transparent and correct manner.
