Gujarat Titans will be keen to avenge their loss against Delhi Capitals last week when they take them on in the reverse fixture on Wednesday, April 24. The players will certainly be focused and determined to help their respective teams win by leaving their all on the field. Ahead of the crunch contest, the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans players showcased their affection and admiration for one another off the field yesterday, when they met during a break in the training sessions. A video of their heartwarming interaction was shared by GT on Instagram. In the video, DC and GT players can be seen sharing moments of laughter with each other.
Shubman Gill, the GT skipper, was chuffed to bits after meeting DC spin duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. The Australian triumvirate of Spencer Johnson, David Warner, and Jake Fraser-McGurk can be seen having a conversation with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. “Purani Dilli mein mulaqat,” read the caption of the post shared by GT on Instagram.
The two teams are set to play only for the second time at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Last week, GT were obliterated by the DC bowlers at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, getting bowled out for just 89. In reply, DC needed just 8.5 overs to complete the run chase. Since that game, GT returned to winning ways, registering a crucial three-wicket win over Punjab Kings. Rahul Tewatia’s unbeaten 36 off 18 deliveries guided GT to a remarkable win against PBKS in that game. DC, on the other hand, suffered their fifth loss of the season as they conceded a defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad by 67 runs.

Ahead of their meeting on Wednesday, GT stand in sixth place in the IPL 2024 points table, with four wins and as many losses in eight games. Meanwhile, DC are currently treading heavy waters, languishing in eighth place. The Rishabh Pant-led side have so far earned three wins from their first eight games. A loss for either team could well prove to have negative implications, while a win could be just the momentum boost required to put on a late surge for a top-four finish.
