The Hassan MP faces charges in two cases, for allegedly sexually harassing a former domestic helper and for allegedly repeatedly raping a former panchayat member

JD(S) Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna’s father, HD Revanna, and his lawyer had reportedly adviced Prajwal to surrender himself before the Karnataka police’ Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the alleged video clips of sexual abuse and exploitation involving the Hassan MP.

Reports indicate that Karnataka police’s SIT is expecting Prajwal to arrive in Bengaluru either late Sunday night or early Monday morning to surrender before the team investigating the case.

33-year-old Prajwal reportedly left the country on April 27 using a diplomatic passport and is suspected to be in Germany.

The Hassan MP faces charges in two cases, for allegedly sexually harassing a former domestic helper and for allegedly repeatedly raping a former panchayat member, per The Time of India report.

The report stated that an SIT team has been stationed at Bengaluru airport since Sunday afternoon. Officials have dismissed the possibility of Prajwal flying to Goa or Mangaluru airports.

The JD(S) leader is expected to land from Dubai, the report said.

On Sunday, the Karnataka government said a Blue Corner Notice has been issued against the JD(S), facing sexual abuse allegations, while his MLA father was remanded to custody in a related case. The Congress party kept up the attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the matter, asking him to break his ‘silence’ on the issue in which the BJP’s alliance party leader is accused. The Congress-led Karnataka government announced financial assistance to those were allegedly sexually assaulted by Prajwal.
