Bhagwant Mann was born on 17 October 1973 in Satoj village of Sangrur district of Punjab. Mann has studied only up to 12th standard. After this, in the year 1992, he took admission in Shaheed Udham Singh Government College to do B.Com (B.Com) but the studies could not be completed. Maan is also called by the name Jugnu. He has also been a famous Punjabi comedian. Mann also participated in the TV show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge with famous comedian Kapil Sharma. Mann started his political journey with Manpreet Singh Badal’s Punjab Peoples Party. Manpreet Badal is the nephew of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Manpreet floated her own party in March 2011 when there was a dispute in the family over political legacy. At the same time Bhagwant joined this party. In the year 2012, Bhagwant Mann contested from Lehra assembly seat. His election symbol was kite, but Mann’s kite could not fly successfully. He had to face defeat.
After the crushing defeat in the 2012 assembly elections, Manpreet Badal started looking for a new path. He joined the Congress before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Bhagwant Mann did not like this. Mann changed his course and in March 2014, Mann joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Kejriwal contested him from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat and he also won.

Wife got separated after becoming MP
In an interview given to a YouTube channel, Bhagwant Mann had given information about his family. He told that as long as he was a comedian, he used to give a lot of time to the family. He won by contesting the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. Since then, he could not give much time to his wife and children. He spent most of his time in public. This is the reason why his wife got separated from him in 2015. Now wife and children live in America. He lives alone in Delhi and his Punjab house. Mann says now people of my Punjab are my family.
