The launch of the much-anticipated Apple iPhone 15 series is a week away and according to the latest leak, the iPhone 15 Pro Max shipments are likely to get delayed by almost four weeks. Apple is said to unveil four iPhone 15 models alongside the Apple Watch Series 9 and an upgraded Apple Watch Ultra. According to tipster Revegnus, the release of the super-premium iPhone 15 Pro Max could be pushed back by up to approximately four weeks in the wake of “severe production issues” related to the manufacturing of image sensors.
Apple will be hosting the September iPhone 15 launch event from Apple Park and the launch will also be live-steamed via Apple’s website.

The Cupertino-based tech giant may not release a Pro model in the iPhone 15 line, but launch a Pro Max and an Ultra variant, serial tipster Majin Bu had earlier said.
“The yield issues with Sony, the supplier of image sensors for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, are severe. As a result, the release date of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed by up to approximately 4 weeks,” Revegnus posted from his X handle.
This is in line with the previous speculations of a delay in the release of the iPhone 15 Pro Max models as camera supplier Sony would not be able to provide the image sensor that this year’s Pro Max model would be equipped with. Sony is said to miss the deadline for image sensor readiness, a previous 9to5Mac report said, quoting an equity analyst. The issue is said to delay iPhone 15 Pro Max deliveries by four weeks, the report had added.

Analyst Jeff Pu had also underlined the reasons that may lead to Apple cutting production of the new models. The Apple iPhone 15 series may get the biggest camera upgrade with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The non-pro iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may come with only ultra-wide and wide cameras and no telephoto sensors.
