Sharoh village of Himachal’s Kullu district will be connected by road after 75 years of independence. About one and a half kilometer away from the Naggar-Manali main road, the people of this village were bereft of the road till now. When the road did not reach the village even in 75 years, the villagers donated their land. Along with this, money was also collected for the construction. On Tuesday, when the JCB arrived to remove the trace of the road, the villagers were in tears.

More than 50 families will be benefited by the construction of this road.

Gram Panchayat Pradhan Naggar Pradeep Thakur said that the villagers have taken a commendable initiative. Today it has been 75 years since our country got independence. But due to lack of road in this village, people are facing problems. They have to spend a huge amount to extract apples and other crops. Now they will not have to bear the financial burden due to the construction of the road.

He told that the people themselves have arranged money for this. Some have even given their private land for the construction of the road. The Panchayat will also try to arrange funds for the construction of the road as far as possible.

Bodh Raj Sharma, Harinder Thakur, Manoj, Tek Chand Negi, Mehar Chand, Lal Chand Negi, Ankush Negi, Rum Singh, Bishambhar, Umesh, Madan Lal Purohit of the village were present during this. He urged the administration and the government that now all of us together have made arrangements for funds to open the road.

But in the coming time, they will also need government help. They have demanded that they be helped, so that they too can connect with the road facility.

Work started from Bhoomi Poojan
The road work was started by Pradhan Pradeep Thakur, Ward Panch Suresh Acharya, President of Naggar Tourism Doublement, Sant Kumar Sharma by duly performing Bhoomi Pujan. While giving information, President of Naggar Tourism Double Payment, Sant Kumar Sharma said that the estimated cost of this road will come close to 20 to 25 lakhs. At present people are spending their own money to open the trace of the road.

With the completion of this road, Sharoh village will also be developed from the point of view of tourism.
