‘Country Won’t Tolerate Their Insult’: PM Modi Hits Back After Mamata Accuses RK Mission Monks Of Backing BJP – News18

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hit back at the West Bengal Chief Minister on Sunday after the TMC chief claimed during an election rally that “a few monks” were aligning with the ruling party at the center and adhering to orders from New Delhi.

At a rally in Hooghly’s Jayrambati, the West Bengal CM earlier accused “a few monks” from Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) and Ramakrishna Mission of directly working against TMC in favour of the BJP. During her speech, she named BSS monk Kartik Maharaj.

“People of Bengal are being threatened. TMC has crossed all limits. ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and BSS work for people worldwide. They bring pride to India. Mamata is insulting and threatening them today,” Modi said during an election rally in Purulia district. “Their only mission is to serve people. Bengal govt raises a finger on them and threatens them just to please their vote bank,” he added. He further said “country won’t tolerate their insult. You have to punish them in this election.”

Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar was the first to respond to Mamata’s allegations, saying “Her delusional rants are a travesty for the people of Bengal.” “Mamata Banerjee’s recent attack on ISKCON, RKM, & Bharat Sevashram Sangh hits a new low. She accuses them of threatening India’s future, claims RKM is campaigning for the BJP via WhatsApp. As the CM, her delusional rants are a travesty for the people of Bengal,” he said.

“Seems Mamata Banerjee lied yesterday regarding revered Kartik Maharaj of the Bharat Sevashram Sangh. Sangh will now approach the High Court against her for maligning Hindu saints. Sangh helped protect Hindu lives during Bengal’s bloody anti-CAA riots. No wonder TMC is mad at them! Hindu organisations will also launch protest against Mamata Banerjee across Bengal for targeting ISKCON, Bharat Sevashram Sangh and Ramakrishna Mission,” Malviya said in a subsequent post.

“All Hindu organisations must come forward against Mamata’s open anti-Hindu rhetoric. Will Mamata Banerjee dare to speak a word against Mohammad Yahya, Chairman of the Bengal Imam Association, who is openly urging Muslims to band together and vote for the TMC? She is preaching neutrality and secularism to Hindu organisations. Will she dare to give similar sermons to her vote-bank?” he added.
