The Supreme Court has given a big decision in the dispute of property in the princely state of Faridkot. The Supreme Court declared the will of Maharaja Harinder Singh Brar illegal. After which the trust formed on its basis has been abolished. Now the royal family will get property worth 25 thousand crores of Faridkot princely state. The Supreme Court has asked it to divide the family.

Till now this property was being handled by Maharawal Khewaji Trust. After the decision of the Supreme Court, the trust will end on 30 September. After this the process of distributing the property among the royal family will begin.

Maharaj had evicted the daughter

Harinder Singh Brar, the last Maharaja of the princely state of Faridkot, made a will before his death. In which his daughter Princess Amrit Kaur was evicted from the royal property. Amrit Kaur did not marry according to her father’s wish. He had established the Maharawal Kheva Ji Trust to take care of the property.

The princess reached the court against the eviction

Rajkumari Amrit Kaur filed a case in the court against the eviction. He said that most of the property in it is ancestral. They cannot be denied this. He claimed the will of Maharaja Harinder Singh to be fake. Earlier, orders had been passed in the lower courts to quash the will. Thereafter the matter reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court also quashed the will, upholding the decision of the lower courts.

Hindu succession law enforced

In this case, the Supreme Court made it clear that the rules of the time of the princely state of Faridkot would not apply in this. In this only Hindu succession law will apply. The Maharaja had 4 children. Out of which son Harmohinder Singh and unmarried daughter Mahipinder Kaur have died. Now this property will be given to his daughters Amrit Kaur and Deepinder Kaur. Deepinder Kaur has also died. Therefore, this property will be passed on to their children in future. The real victory in this case went to Princess Amrit Kaur as she was deprived of property. The trust was being run by the family of his sister Deepinder Kaur.
