Tight security arrangements were made during voting in Dimapur, Nagaland on February 27.

The Election Commission has directed re-polling in 4 polling booths in 4 districts of Nagaland today i.e. on March 1. It includes Zunheboto, Wokha, Mon and Knocklak polling booths. Voting has started again at these places from 7 am.

According to news agency PTI, it is not known why the re-voting is taking place in these areas, but it is being told in the media reports that the Commission has taken this decision on the basis of the report of the General Observer. The commission has declared the voting held in the state on Monday invalid.

In Nagaland, 85.35% votes were cast on Monday. There are 60 seats in the state, but after the withdrawal of the name of the Congress candidate from one seat, voting took place only on 59 seats. Here the BJP candidate was declared elected unopposed. The results of the election will come on March 2.

85.35% voting till 5 pm in Nagaland
Voting was held on February 27 for 59 out of 60 assembly seats in 16 districts of Nagaland. The voting figure till 5 pm was 85.35%. Here on February 10, Congress candidate Khekashe Sumi withdrew his nomination from Akuluto assembly constituency, following which BJP candidate Kajeto Kinimi was elected unopposed. There are a total of 13 lakh voters in the state. At the same time, 183 candidates are in the fray, including 4 women and 19 independent candidates. 2,315 polling stations were set up for them.

Nagaland is currently ruled by the National Democratic Progressive Party. Neiphiu Rio is the CM. NDPP came into existence in 2017. The NDPP then won 18 seats and the BJP 12. The two parties had forged an alliance before the elections. The government consists of NDPP, BJP NPP and JDU.
