Delhi’s Rohini Court on Saturday i.e. May 6 convicted a man in the case related to the rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl. The accused was arrested in 2015 in a case of rape, kidnapping and murder of a minor. The court will give its verdict on the punishment of the accused on May 20.

According to the police, the name of the accused is Ravinder. He is a serial rapist and killer. He used to work as a laborer in Delhi and was addicted to drugs. Ravinder had raped and killed 30 children in 7 years. He had committed most of the rapes in Delhi-NCR and western UP areas.

Used to walk for 40 km in search of target
According to the police, Ravinder himself confessed to his crime. He had told that in 2008 he had come to Delhi from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh. At that time he was 18 years old. Her father worked as a plumber and her mother worked as a cook and cleaner in people’s homes. After coming to Delhi, he became addicted to alcohol and drugs. Also he got addicted to watching porn videos.

He told that he used to drink alcohol or take drugs every evening and then go out in search of his target i.e. minor children. For this, he used to walk for 40 kms in a day. First he raped and killed a girl in 2008. His courage increased when he was not caught for the crime the first time. Then it became his daily routine.

Ravinder told that he used to lure the children with Rs 10 notes or toffees to get them to pass. Then he used to catch them and take them to a deserted area. There he would rape them and later kill them. The convict told in his statement that he had raped children between the age of 6 to 12 years in 7 years.

Police caught the accused twice

Ravindra Kumar was first caught by the police in 2014. He was charged with kidnapping, attempted murder and physical abuse of a 6-year-old child. However, he was later released.

After this, in 2015, he was arrested by the police probing the kidnapping of a 6-year-old girl. He was caught near Sukhbir Nagar bus stand in Delhi’s Rohini. The police had scanned the footage of dozens of CCTV cameras to nab him. Also interrogated his informers. According to the police, Ravinder was accused of abducting the girl, raping her and then killing her by slitting her throat. He was also accused of throwing the girl’s body in a septic tank after the murder. In this case, the court has convicted him.
