Rajbhar meets Shah, speculations about his return to NDA | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president Om Prakash Rajbharwhose party has won six assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh as an ally of Samajwadi Party, had called on home minister Amit Shah at the latter’s residence in Delhi last Friday.
His meeting with Shah has sparked speculation over his return to the BJP-led NDA fold, which he had quit after serving as a cabinet minister in Yogi government for almost one year.
BJP sources have also confirmed that Rajbhar might join the Yogi government but there was no confirmation about its time whether at the swearing in ceremony on March 25 or on some later date. Sources said that Shah might have taken the initiative to weaken the Samajwadi Party which has done better in the eastern region thanks to the alliance with the SBSP, resulting in BJP’ poor performance with party not winning single seats in districts like Ghazipur and Azamgarh.
Sources said other leaders like BJP poll in charge for UP, Dharmendra Pradhan and general secretary (organisation) for the state Sunil Bansal were also present when Rajbhar called on Shah. If Rajbhar joins the NDA, it will be a huge setback to Akhilesh Yadav in Lok Sabha polls in 2024 and also in the ongoing elections for the legislative council seats.
