Rajamouli Reveals James Cameron Loved RRR And Watched It Twice

New Delhi: After winning the Golden Globe for Best Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’, the film ‘RRR’, which is receiving acclaim worldwide, took home two honours at the Critics Choice Awards. The film received the Best Foreign Language Film Award, and the dance track won Best Song.

Filmmaker James Cameron’s appreciation for ‘RRR’ at the event was the real icing on the cake, even though the RRR team was already elated with the wins.

SS Rajamouli revealed on Monday that James Cameron had seen ‘RRR’ and enjoyed it so much that he had recommended it to his wife and watched it a second time. James Cameron and SS Rajamouli were both present at the Critics’ Choice Awards. The director posted a few pictures of himself with James Cameron on Twitter and expressed his surprise at the fact that the Avatar director took ten minutes to analyse his movie.

The two master filmmakers can be seen talking in the first picture. In the second photo, Rajamouli can be seen holding Cameron’s hands while they chat.

“The great James Cameron watched RRR. He liked it so much that he recommended to his wife Suzy and watched it again with her. Sir, I still cannot believe you spent a whole 10 minutes with us analysing our movie. As you said I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD… Thank you both,” the tweet read.

Rajamouli previously experienced a fanboy moment when he got to meet Steven Spielberg. The director of ‘RRR’ took to Twitter to share photos of himself with the iconic director. He captioned the photo, “I just met GOD!”

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt also responded to James Cameron’s praise of her movie. She responded on Instagram to a tweet from the movie’s official Twitter account, letting people know that an American journalist had said that the Avatar director “admires” ‘RRR’.

Sharing the tweet on her Instagram Stories, Alia wrote, “Uffff what a beautiful morning.”

‘RRR’, directed by SS Rajamouli, received two Critics’ Choice Awards. Following last week’s Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, this marks the movie’s second most significant victory. For the Critics’ Choice Awards, the movie was nominated for five different categories: best picture, best director, best foreign language film, best song for Naatu Naatu, and best visual effects.
