Punjab Congress leader in custody in Chandigarh: Protesting against inflation; Police action after insisting on going to Governor’s House

Congress leaders protesting in Chandigarh have been taken into custody by the police. Everyone has been taken to the police station by putting them in the bus. These include Congress’s Punjab President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, former Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa, MLA Pargat Singh and many big Congress leaders.

Congress was protesting against inflation, unemployment and GST in the country in Chandigarh. First Congress demonstrated at Congress Bhawan in Sector 15. After this no one came to take the demand letter, so they marched towards the Governor’s House.

On the way, Chandigarh Police stopped them by putting up barricades. When the Congressmen tried to move forward, the police fired water cannons. After this the Congressmen sat on the road itself. The police asked him to leave but he did not agree. After which all have been taken into custody.

Last time Sidhu and Youth Congress chief clashed
Congress had also demonstrated against inflation a few months back. Then Navjot Sidhu had questioned the honesty of some Congress leaders. After which Youth Congress President Barinder Dhillon clashed with him. He asked Sidhu to name dishonest leaders. As a result, the performance had to be cut in half.
