IGP Headquarters Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill giving information about the arrest of Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh.

Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh was arrested on Sunday morning and sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. IGP Headquarters Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill told that Amritpal Singh did not surrender, rather he was arrested. Action has been taken against Amritpal under the NSA issued by the court.

Amritpal bowed his head after reaching the Gurudwara of Rodegaon. Dress changed. Wearing chola and parna.

Police surrounded the village Roda
He was caught from village Roda at 6:45 am on Sunday. Punjab Police and Intelligence had concrete information about his being in village Roda. For this reason the village was cordoned off from all sides, but Amritpal Singh was hiding in Gurdwara Sahib. The police took care of the dignity of Gurdwara Sahib. Due to the blockade from all sides, Amritpal Singh could not find any way to escape and the police arrested him.

Amritpal Singh has been sent to Dibrugarh. The Punjab Police had created pressure for the last 35 days. The IGP thanked the people of Punjab for maintaining peace during the entire operation.

IGP Gill clarified that police arrested Amritpal Singh and not he surrendered. He said that the operation was going on for the last 35 days. Today, after gathering solid information, the entire operation has been carried out. Further action will be taken as per law. He did not give any answer to the question of the Gurdwara Sahib being built in the name of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala.
