PM Modi 73rd Birthday: Prime Minister To Launch ‘Vishwakarma’ Scheme, ‘YashoBhoomi’ Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 73 on Sunday, has a packed schedule on his birthday and will launch a plethora of projects in different sectors. The most notable of all the projects is the inauguration of the Phase 1 of India International Convention and Expo Centre, also called ‘Yashobhoomi’, at Dwarka, New Delhi. The launch is scheduled to take place at 11 am. The Yashobhoom is slated to become one of the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities.

The Prime Minister will also open a new metro station in Dwarka Sector 25 as part of the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to Dwarka Sector 25.

According to the official statement, the operationalization of Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) dubbed ‘Yashobhomi’ in Dwarka would support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of having a world-class infrastructure for hosting meetings, conferences, and exhibits in the country.

“With a total project area of over 8.9 lakh square metre and total built up area of more than 1.8 lakh square metre, YashoBhoomi will find its place among the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities. The Convention Center, built across more than 73 thousand square metres of area, comprises 15 convention rooms including the Main auditorium, the Grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms with a total capacity of holding 11,000 delegates. The Convention centre has the largest LED media facade in the country,” reads the official statement.

YashoBhoomi will be connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line with the inauguration of the new Dwarka Sector 25 metro station.

The Airport Express Line’s operational speed will be raised from 90 to 120 km/hr, reducing travel time. The journey from New Delhi to YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 takes about 21 minutes.

On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch a new scheme named “PM Vishwakarma” to help artists, craftspeople, and others interested in traditional skills.

Modi has made it a priority, according to a statement, to support persons interested in traditional crafts not just financially, but also to keep the age-old tradition, culture, and distinct heritage alive and flourishing via local items, art, and crafts.

The Union government would fully fund the programme, which Modi pledged on Independence Day, with a Rs 13,000 crore investment. Under the concept, prospective beneficiaries will be enrolled for free at common service facilities via the biometric-based PM Vishwakarma portal.
