After the victory of Jhunjhunu resident Dhankhar will be the leader of Rajasthan running both the houses of Parliament. Om Birla, MP from Kota, is the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. The Vice President is the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, so Dhankhar will run the Rajya Sabha.

Jagdeep Dhankhar became active in the RSS after the 90s. He started organizing lawyers and connecting them with the Sangh. He is considered to have played a major role in the formation of the Advocates’ Council. Working in the Advocates Council increased his contacts with top leaders of RSS and BJP. Before becoming the governor, he was continuously active in the work of the organization along with advocacy.

Jagdeep Dhankhar’s brother Randeep Dhankhar is a Congress leader. He was the chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) during the previous Congress government. Jagdeep Dhankhar has good contacts with leaders of all parties in Rajasthan.

Student of Sainik School Chittorgarh
Jagdeep Dhankhar, born in Jhunjhunu district on 18 May 1951 in a simple farmer family, had his early education in the village. Then his admission was done in Sainik School Chittorgarh. Dhankhar was selected in NDA (National Defense Academy), but he did not go. He graduated from Rajasthan University. After this he studied LLB. Started advocacy by staying in Jaipur itself.

Why NDA candidate’s victory is certain
The Vice-President is elected through the Electoral College consisting of members of both the Houses of Parliament. Only MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can vote in the Vice Presidential election. Both the elected and nominated members can cast their vote.

Now know from the figures how many members will vote
At present, there are 543 MPs in the Lok Sabha. There are total 245 members in Rajya Sabha. Of these, 12 are named. 8 seats are vacant now. Of these, 4 due to the dissolution of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, while one seat was left by Manik Saha, who became the new Chief Minister of Tripura. The seats of 3 nominated members are also vacant. That is, in today’s situation, 237 Rajya Sabha MPs will vote in the election.

There are a total of 780 members in the Lok Sabha, 543 and 237 in the Rajya Sabha.

BJP’s strength right now
BJP has 303 members in Lok Sabha while 91 in Rajya Sabha i.e. BJP alone has 394 votes. By adding 5 nominated members, this number becomes 399.

At present, the BJP has got the support of 31 MPs in the Lok Sabha and 16 in the Rajya Sabha. Together, the NDA gets 446 votes. That is, the victory of NDA candidate is sure.
