Noida: Water supply in Sector 82 hit for past two days, residents irked | Noida News – Times of India

It is a serious problem as nearly 350 residents live in the complex, Surendra Kumar RWA president said.

NOIDA: Residents of Swarnim Vihar Sector 82 complained of no water supply in the area for the past two days.
The high-rise apartment complex comprises of over 120 HIG flats and currently has about 350 residents living in the complex.
“There has been no water in our society since Tuesday evening. We somehow managed with whatever stored water we had for the past two days. But now, the water tanks are empty,” said Surendra Kumar RWA president Swarnim Vihar HIG flats Sector 82, Noida.
“It is a serious problem as nearly 350 residents live in the complex,” said Kumar who added that there is only one supply line for all LIG, MIG, duplex and HIG flats in the area. “There is a need for a separate water line for HIG flats,’ said Kumar.
Vinod Sharma, junior engineer in charge of water supply in Sector 82 told TOI that there was a problem with a valve in the water pipeline from the main tank in the area. “This led to low-pressure supply as the defective valve was blocking the supply. The problem was fixed on Wednesday evening and normal supply will resume by Thursday,” said Sharma.
However, residents maintained that while the supply remained disrupted for nearly three days, why were they not informed about the problem so that they could make adequate arrangements. “This shows the lackadaisical approach of the officials,” said Kumar who said that the water supply, resumed by Thursday evening, had very low pressure.
