Supreme Court has given green signal to NEET-PG counselling. 27 percent reservation for OBC has also been approved by the Supreme Court. At the same time, 10 percent reservation for EWS will be effective this year. However, whether this quota will be continued in future will be decided by the Supreme Court. The next hearing in the matter will be held in the second week of March.
A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna gave this verdict. The bench, while reserving the verdict in the matter on Thursday after two days of hearing, had observed that its order would keep in mind the national interest and in view of the same, NEET counseling should start soon. The counseling for NEET PG courses has been put on hold due to the matter before the apex court.
