KMDA has taken special initiative to solve the problem based on that complaint.

Due to this heavy rain, water has stood in parts from Science City to AJC Bose Road. As a result commuters have to suffer.
What action is KMDA taking? The Kolkata Municipal Development Authority has taken the initiative to solve this problem of standing rain water permanently. KMDA is going to rehabilitate the 4.3 km stretch from Science City to AJC Bose Road. New underground pipes are about to be installed. Because the pipe that was installed earlier is blocked. Because of that, the accumulated water is not able to come out of the airport. So if the pipeline is not reformed, this problem will remain. And daily commuters will have to grind.
What else is known? Pipeline installation work has started in the marked part of Ma Udalpul. For that, KMDA’s engineers have visited that part of Ma Udalpool. An agency has been cited for this drainage reform. According to sources, the work of installing new pipes will be completed before Durga Puja. These changed new pipes have an outer diameter of 160 mm. The cost of this work is 1 crore 2 lakhs.
