IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Heavy and light rain may occur in these states
According to IMD, due to Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh till May 26. Whereas, 13 states – Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka may receive light to moderate rain with dust storm.

Light rain is also likely over Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain at this time is not a good sign for monsoon
According to weather experts, active occurrence of western disturbances from March to May is not a good sign. Although the monsoon is affected by many reasons, but a major reason is the scorching heat before the monsoon. Low soil moisture and high temperature attract the monsoon easily. But after the rains, this process becomes weak.

Rain in North India brought mercury down to 5 degrees
A new Western Disturbance has knocked in North-West India. Because of this, despite the beginning of the last week of May, there was no heatwave in any North Indian state on Wednesday. It rained with strong winds at some places in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand. Due to this, the temperature in most areas of North India was 5 degrees below normal.
