VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra has termed the women as “the real strength behind Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) rise”, adding that “it’s because of the support of the women power that the government is able to take important decisions for the country’s development”. In his first interaction with party workers after the promulgation of model code of conduct, Modi exhorted the BJP workers to “connect with maximum number of voters by inviting micro-donation through NaMo App by holding a contest at each booth.”
Interacting with over 10,000 BJP workers of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi through NaMo App on Tuesday, he questioned a booth unit president Sima Devi whether ‘matrishakti’ (women power) was happy or not? On getting a reply that government schemes like LPG and tap water connections, opening of bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana, construction of houses under PM Awas Yojana while ensuring title of property in their names had not only eased their living, but also increased their honour and pride, Modi said, “All these achievements have become possible because of the blessings of ‘matrishakri’.”
“Aap jaisan bahinin ke aashirwad hamar asli shakti haue (the blessing of you all sisters is our real power),” said Modi, mentioning that “women of the country took decisions wisely in order to give the opportunity to serve the country. It enables us to make all these things possible”.

Exhorting the party workers to encourage people to come out and vote, ‘because each vote counts’, Modi asked them to conduct competition at each booth in a drive mode by January 30 to reach people for micro donation through NaMo App. “Collection of money should not be the objective. The micro donation of meagre amounts from Rs 5 to Rs 10 should be invited to add maximum people with party,” said Modi.
“We are in politics and the elections come with an opportunity to add more people with the party as workers. Apart from winning the election, the target should also be there to expand the party base,” he said, adding, “Yogiji (Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath) and I are performing because people have voted for us. We will keep working for development.”
