Sukesh Chandrashekhar is currently lodged in Delhi’s Mandoli jail in connection to the Rs 200 crore extortion case.

Alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekar has sent a legal notice to Mika Singh days after the singer reacted to Jacqueline Fernandez’s photo with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Commenting on Jacqueline’s photo, the singer had written, “You are looking so beautiful… he is much better than Sukesh.” He has now been accused of tarnishing Sukesh’s image.

As reported by E-Times, the notice by Sukesh’s lawyer Anant Malik sent to Mika Singh read, “Your statement has triggered extensive public discourse about our client’s character and personality, subjecting him to a de facto trial by media. This situation is exacerbating his existing distress and poses significant challenges due to relentless media scrutiny.”

“Our client is a man of repute and enjoys goodwill in the Indian film industry, various business houses and political circles. He holds goodwill and reputation both nationally and at a global level. You yourself being a member of the Bollywood industry are is very well aware of the struggles one faces to build his/her name in this field. However, your comment has not only tarnished our client’s image but has also adversely affected his personal and professional life,” it added.

The notice further called Mika Singh’s comment a ‘deliberate and desperate’ act to allegedly malign Sukesh’s image. It also made it clear that such behaviour will not be tolerated. “You are, therefore, put to notice that by your derogatory comment, you have committed serious criminal offence of defamation, and are therefore liable to be prosecuted, inter-alia, under the provisions of Sections 499/500 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860,” the notice read.

Sukesh also demanded an apology from Mika Singh and warned the singer of the legal action. “It is pertinent to mention that defamation is a criminal offence punishable with jail term of up to two years. Further, you are also notified that your statement is also an infringement of our client’s personality rights which is guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution. You (Mika) are further directed to immediately issue an unconditional apology to our client, cease and desist from making any further false, scurrilous, defamatory and disparaging statements, and causing any further harassment to our client,” the notice concluded.

For the unversed, Chandrashekhar is currently lodged in Delhi’s Mandoli jail in connection to the Rs 200 crore extortion case. He was rumoured to be in a relationship with the Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez. While the diva previously denied any kind of romantic relationship with Sukesh, she is an accused in the case and has also been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) multiple times.
