MAHARASHTRA POLITICAL CRISIS

The current political turmoil in Maharashtra started when Eknath Shinde, along with 26 MLAs, went missing after the results of the MLC polls were declared, a development believed to be a result of cross-voting by certain MLAs of the ruling government. According to sources, around 42 MLAs are believed to be camping at the hotel in Guwahati.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray moved out of his official residence, Varsha, to the family’s private home, ‘Matoshree’ on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut claimed about 20 MLAs are in touch with them.

Earlier in the day, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM should visit the state and announce a special package. He said that the PM is busy toppling the Maharashtra government and also with the Gujarat elections at a time when floods have hit the state.
