Love Wins All’s music shows IU and V being chased by a robotic cubical in a post-apocalyptic world.

The much-anticipated music collaboration between South Korean singer IU and boyband BTS member V titled Love Wins All has been released. The music video of IU’s pre-release single, featuring V was dropped on January 24. Directed by Um Tae-Hwa, Love Wins All depicts IU and V as a couple on the run to survive a lurking danger in a post-apocalyptic future. The song’s trailer dropped by IU on January 23 already piqued the interest of IU admirers and the BTS Army. IU and V’s on-screen chemistry was a bonus. Now that Love Wins All is finally out, fans are bowled over by the track and the visually engaging video.

Love Wins All’s music video opens with IU and V running hand-in-hand from something through a forest. Bruises and cuts mark their face and the two visibly look scared. A robotic cubical appears in the sky, moments into the video, indicating they are fleeing from an identified yet powerful force. After a tiring run, they enter a shopping mall to find a heap of clothes accumulated in one place. V stumbles upon a hand cam and starts recording IU to find that the visuals in the hand cam have a changed background. The dystopian backdrop of rumbles, broken buildings, and ruins disappears, underlining their wish to escape the apocalyptic situation.

Throughout the music video, IU and V dream of a world where there are no worries or extra-terrestrial trouble. They imagine themselves as newlyweds, with IU dressed in a white bridal gown and V, the groom, donning a black suit, living the best lives. However, washing away their fantasy, the cubical object finds them. While V tries to kill it, he fails. IU holds him close in her arms and covers his eyes with her hand. In the hand cam, the duo are seen slowly being lifted in the air by a force beyond their comprehension. When IU and V disappear only their nuptial apparel comes flying down and rests on the other heap of clothes.

The masses were left with a heavy heart after hearing the tear-jerker Love Wins All. The visually gritty premises, the heartbreaking lyrics, and IU and V’s natural chemistry touched the hearts of many. Some eagle-eyed fans also noticed that during the song’s end credits, the cubical was credited to be a “Special guest” suggesting that IU and V were attributing to BTS member SUGA.

Meanwhile, while IU is prepping for the release of her latest album, the BTS members are serving in the military.
