Famous Tamil film actress and politician Kushboo Sundar announced on Wednesday her return to Hindi cinema with a film titled Journey, marking her comeback after nearly 35 years since the beginning of her career.

“My journey in films started as an eight-year-old in Hindi. Anil Sharma Ji was an AD then. Today, at the pinnacle of his career, I restart my journey yet again in Hindi films after 35 long years with this master of his craft with #JOURNEY, opposite the powerhouse of talent Nana Patekar,” she shared on social media.

Describing her participation in this project as an honour, Kushboo expressed, “Couldn’t have asked for anything better to return to my roots. Need your blessings to make a mark yet again.” Beginning her career as an actress in the South, Kushboo has diversified her talents over the years, taking on roles as a producer and more recently as a writer. She penned the script for a television family drama titled Meera.

Kushboo was initially set to play a lead role in director Vijay Sri’s upcoming Tamil film Haraa, alongside actor Mohan. However, due to time constraints, she eventually had to opt out. Unfortunately, the film’s director Vijay Sri encountered an accident, which led to the postponement of shooting schedules. As Kushboo couldn’t accommodate the new dates, the unit had no choice but to replace her with Malayalam actress Anumol.

Kushboo Sundar began her film career as a child artist in the widely acclaimed 1980 movie The Burning Train. Quickly rising to prominence, she became a household name in the South film industry, appearing in notable films such as Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu, Ranadheera, Nattamai, and Annaamalai, among others. Her foray into politics occurred in 2010.

Kushboo made her adult acting debut in the highly acclaimed 1985 Hindi film Meri Jung, portraying a supporting role as Anil Kapoor’s younger sister. In the same year, she landed her first lead role in the film Jaanoo, opposite veteran actor Jackie Shroff. This was followed by Tan-Badan in 1986, where she was paired with Govinda. Additionally, Kushboo played a significant supporting role in Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin (1990), alongside Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
