ABOUT SM Suresh has been working at the Kushalnagar traffic station for three years and before that, he was working at the Kushalnagar circle inspector‘s office.
According to Suresh’s colleagues, he worked at the traffic police office till 8pm on Thursday. However, Suresh’s neighbours said he failed to return to his rented house in Siddaiah Puranik Layout, Kushalngar.
It was when Suresh failed to attend the duty till evening on Friday that the police officials started inquiring about his whereabouts and found his house locked.
Meanwhile, his wife Shobha, who is living with the couple’s elder daughter Spandana (23) in Bengaluru, also got tensed after she failed to contact her husband over mobile phone, which remained switched off. “My husband had called me over phone at 9.45pm on Thursday. He told me that he had received booster dose for Covid-19. I asked him to apply for leave and get some rest the next day. When I called him on Friday morning at 7.30am, his mobile was switched off. Again I tried to call him at 11am, but it remained off. Immediately I contacted my sister Savitha and my husband’s sister Geetha residing at Kushalnagar to visit my husband’s house. They went to his house, broke opened the lock of the house, but did not find my husband there,” Shobha stated in her complaint.
The missing ASI is a native of Konanuru. However, he had his own house and a property at Shirangala in Kodagu.
According to his colleagues, he was a polite person and did not have enmity with anyone. DYSP Shailendra has formed a team to launch a search operation to find the location of the missing ASI.
