Kangana Ranaut Calls Them ‘Terrorist’ Who Feels Attacked By ‘The Kerala Story’

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut defended the filmmaker of ‘The Kerala Story’ and blasted those who are opposed to the movie’s distribution in a recent interview. The film, directed by Sudipto Sen, hit the theatres on May 5. It stars performances by Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani. After the trailer for ‘The Kerala Story’ was released, it sparked widespread outrage. The debate became so heated that numerous prominent politicians called for the film’s ban. Kangana Ranaut stood with the film throughout the controversy.

When Kangana Ranaut appeared at ABP’s Majha Maha Katta event, she was questioned about the film and the controversy surrounding its release. Kangana made it quite apparent that the film’s antagonist is not the religious community as large but rather an extreme group.

The actress said, “See I have not watched the film but a lot has been tried to ban the film. I read it today, correct me if I am wrong, High Court has said that the film cannot be banned. I think it’s not showing anybody in the bad light but only ISIS, right?”

“If HC, the country’s most responsible body is saying this, then they are right. ISIS is a terrorist organisation. It’s not like I am calling them terrorist, our country, Home Ministry (Ministry of Home Affairs) and other countries as well have called them so,” she added.

Knagana also said, “Agar aap aisa samjhte hai ki woh terrorists organization nahi hai toh zaheer si baat hai phir aap bhi terrorist hi hai. , morally by every standard aur aapko lagta hai woh terrorist nahi hai toh more than the film you are a bigger problem you should first think about where you stand in life (If you think ISIS is not a terrorist outfit despite its declaration then you are also a terrorist).

‘The Kerala Story’ is a film about several women from Kerala who convert to Islam and join the ranks of the militant Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
