Reliance Industries India’s largest company by market capitalization (RIL) will hold its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday at 2 pm. The oil-to-chemical conglomerate has been holding its annual shareholding meeting virtually since last year coronavirus Universal pandemic. India’s most valuable company is expected to make several announcements in its telecom, retail and oil-to-chemical business during its 44th AGM. There have been reports that Yasser Al-Rumayyan, chairman of Saudi Aramco and governor of the Kingdom’s wealth fund Public Investment Fund, may be included on the board of Reliance Industries Ltd. All eyes are on the new 5G smartphone that is expected to launch. According to reports, June 24. The company may also introduce a new affordable laptop – JioBook Laptop during the 44th AGM. The company had earlier fixed June 14 as the record date for dividend for FY21. The company said that the dividend, if declared at the AGM, would be paid within one week from the conclusion of the AGM. To fight the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the country badly in the last one year, Reliance Industries has taken several initiatives from setting up hospitals to augmenting oxygen supply. Its latest venture is the authorization of a tapeworm drug that has the potential to treat novel coronavirus infection, the annual report noted.
