Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chothe said that an FIR has been registered in this regard in Ichak police station area on Saturday evening. It has been accused of allegedly creating communal unrest in front of a religious place of a particular community in Darji Mohalla area under Ichak police station area.

According to the information, three miscreants allegedly abused some people of other community while celebrating Holi under the influence of alcohol, which was opposed. During this an altercation broke out between the two sides. Gradually this altercation turned into a clash between the two communities. During this, three shops in the area were torched.

After which SDO Hazaribagh Sadar Vidya Bhushan Kumar controlled the situation by visiting the spot. Four people injured in the clash have been admitted to Hazaribagh Medical College. where he is being treated. The SDO said that the situation was brought under control with the timely intervention of the police.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chothe said that no problem has been reported since Saturday night. A team of Rapid Action Force (RAF) along with adequate police force has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. He said that the police is conducting raids to arrest the other culprits. The SP said that apart from the incident, the Holi festival in Hazaribagh district passed off peacefully.
