Jharkhand: Four school children drown in a pond in Palamu, bodies sent to hospital for postmortem

Four children drowned in a pond near their school in Jharkhand’s Palamu district. According to the police, bodies of six to eight-year-old children were recovered from the pond on Thursday evening.

All the bodies have been sent to Medininagar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. Additional Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg said- ‘We are investigating how the children reached the pond and how they drowned in this pond.’

Police said the four children studied in a government school in Sarja village, 200 km from Ranchi. On Thursday they all left for school but none of them returned till noon.
