Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday strongly targeted the Soren government. He said the shortage of construction materials like sand and stone in Jharkhand has adversely affected government projects including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Senior BJP leader Raghubar Das said that under PMAY, the construction of houses in rural areas has come down to 500 units per day from the earlier 1,400-1,500 units. He claimed that similarly the construction of culverts and bridges under Mukhyamantri Gramya Setu Yojana (MGSY) has come to a standstill.

Construction material crisis pushing Jharkhand backwards
Blaming the JMM-led government in the state, Raghubar Das said the construction material crisis was pushing Jharkhand backwards. He further said that the present government in Jharkhand is neither running nor crawling, it is in deep sleep.

Raghuvar Das alleged that the auction of sand ghats and stone quarries in the state was pending since 2020, creating a crisis. However, sand and stones are being illegally taken to Bangladesh. State agencies recently conducted raids to check illegal mining and transportation of minerals.

20 lakh laborers unemployed
He said that if the government had auctioned the sand ghats and mines on time, such a crisis could have been avoided. He claimed that the situation has also affected the real estate sector and rendered nearly 20 lakh laborers jobless.
