Jharkhand: BJP MP’s support to the Governor to return the draft of the Mob Violence Bill, questions raised on the state government

BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand and State BJP President Deepak Prakash on Friday welcomed the Governor’s decision to return the bill against Mob Singha (mob lynching). Prakash said that this bill was brought illegally.

Governor Ramesh Bais on Thursday returned the draft Prevention of Mob Violence and Mob Violence Bill 2021. It was passed by the state assembly in December last year. The Governor has returned this draft to the state government with some suggestions.

According to a report by news agency ANI, Deepak Prakash said that it is very unfortunate that the Jharkhand government got such a bill against mob violence passed in the state assembly and sent to the governor, which is not legally correct.

‘This bill will harm social peace’
He further said that the bill also violates the provisions of CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) and IPC (Indian Penal Code). Jharkhand BJP President Prakash said that this bill is going to harm the social peace in the state.

Deepak Prakash said, ‘Under this bill, when two persons are involved in any crime, it will be called mob violence. If a businessman writes something, it will also be considered as mob violence. In such a situation, how can the Jharkhand government justify it.’
