IPL 2022: Nita Ambani sends a strong message to Mumbai Indians after fourth successive loss – ‘We’ll conquer this’

Mumbai Indians (MI) haven’t started the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) as they’d have hoped. The five-time IPL champions have lost all four of their games in the tournament so far. After making a disastrous start in IPL 2022, MI are currently placed at the bottom half of the table.

MI captain Rohit Sharma said that the defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday was a tough pill to swallow. Mumbai Indians, in the meantime, posted a video on Instagram wherein franchise owner Mrs. Nita Ambani sent an encouraging message to the MI players.

“I have full faith and belief in all of you all and I’m sure we’ll pull through. Now, we’re only going to be onwards and upwards. We need to believe in ourselves that we’re going to conquer this,” Nita Ambani said.

‘My full support to you all’

This is not the first time that the franchise has started an IPL season with multiple losses. Back in 2014, the Mumbai-based team lost all of their first five games, and registered their first win against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. They finished fourth that season with 14 points.

MI lost their first four games in IPL 2015 as well, and went on to lift the trophy, beating Chennai Super Kings in the final. Despite the poor beginning in 2022, Nita Ambani asked the MI players to keep their chins up and make a strong comeback.

“We’ve been through this many times before, and then gone ahead and won the cup. So, I have full trust and belief that you stick to each other. If you’re by each other, we’ll conquer this. And I will meet you on the other side.

“Till then, my full support to you all in whatever you want. Please keep faith in each other, keep faith in yourself, keep believing. And Mumbai Indians are always there to support you,” Nita Ambani added.

MI are next scheduled to lock horns with Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings on Wednesday, April 13 at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
