Hey there, Instagrammers! Are you curious about Threads, the new microblogging platform from Instagram? Well, we’ve got all the answers to your burning questions right here. Let’s dive in!
Think of Threads as Instagram meets Twitter. You can post text messages, attach photos, videos, or GIFs to your posts. And guess what? You can create a thread of consecutive posts, just like Twitter’s own ‘threads.
To get started, simply head to the Google Play Store for Android users or the App Store for iOS users. Download the Threads app, and you’re good to go! Threads is currently only available as a mobile app. So, no web version just yet.
You can only use Threads if you have an active Instagram account. When you download Threads, just sign in using your Instagram username, and you’re all set!
Character Limit
On Threads, you can express yourself with up to 500 characters per post. It’s a bit more than Twitter’s 280 characters. Unless you’re a Twitter Blue user, then the limit there goes up to 10,000 characters!
Hashtags
Interestingly, Threads seems to be a hashtag-free platform. So, unlike Instagram or Twitter, hashtags don’t automatically become keywords. Keep that in mind while posting!
Sharing Threads
You can share your Threads posts on Instagram as stories or regular posts. Plus, here’s a cool feature – you can also share your thread directly on Twitter.
