Indian buyers could finally have 5G phones for under 10,000

With 5G networks expanding rapidly, it is time for brands to consider bringing 5G phones in the budget category which could happen soon.

With India moving rapidly into the 5G era it is time for consumers to get affordable 5G phones so that more people can experience the new network technology. A new report claims that a 5G phone under Rs 10,000 could launch in the country very soon. The device will allow budget-conscious buyers to get a taste of 5G speeds, which frankly is not very different from 4G speeds in the country.

The report says that a brand called Itel will be launching this budget 5G smartphone by the end of this month. Itel already has been a big player in the budget phone market, but having a 5G phone is definitely an exciting prospect.

Industry executives have talked about affordable 5G phones expected by the end of 2023 and it seems that the timeline is on track with more brands likely to enter the fray in the coming months.

The report here also mentions that the upcoming 5G phone could feature a dual rear camera system while the power and volume buttons are placed on the right side. Itel is a sub-brand of Transsion Holdings which also has other mobile brands in the segment.

It will be interesting to see if Itel manages to grab eyes with the first-ever budget 5G phone in the country and we are hoping that the brand could pack some decent hardware under the hood to keep the performance levels in play and also support all the popular 5G bands running in the country.

Being a 5G phone we don’t think Itel will provide the Android Go version as the base software, which suggests you could get 4GB or even 6GB RAM on the phone to make the best of 5G data speeds and all the apps you will install on the device. Itel launching the budget 5G phone could also result in other prominent brands entering the segment, which only means more choices for the consumers.
