The central government’s ambitious Central Vista Avenue may open to the public for the general public from next week. The redeveloped Central Vista Avenue from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8. However, it has not been officially announced yet.
Central Vista Avenue is considered to be the city’s most popular public space. Red granite has been used on this avenue, which is surrounded by greenery and has an area of 1.1 lakh square meters.
The Rajpath has 4,087 trees, 114 modern signs and many gardens. There are more than 900 lighthouses here. The purpose of the lighthouse is to make the central vista more pedestrian friendly round the clock. 8 feature sections have been created. A new triangular Parliament building, a common central secretariat, redevelopment of the 3 km long Rajpath, new residences and offices of the Prime Minister and new enclaves for the Vice President are being built under the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, called the country’s corridor of power.
